Morton County VINE Coverage
Kansas VINE is a custody-status and notification program for offenders housed in participating Kansas county jails. The Kansas Attorney General draws a clear boundary: the program does not include Kansas Department of Corrections state-prison offenders. VINELink is therefore not a complete Kansas criminal-history source and not a broad list of everyone released in Morton County.

A released result may later change or disappear according to supplier retention. Save the notification confirmation and record the event wording, but verify it with the named agency. VINELink does not guarantee an exact community-release time, final court outcome, or end of every sentence obligation.
Register Morton County Release Alerts

An alert is time-sensitive, not self-proving. Contact the agency named in the record and ask whether the person entered the community or transferred to another authority. When exact timing matters, ask for the existing booking and release entry rather than relying only on the arrival time of the message.
Verify a Morton County VINE Alert
For a Morton County Law Enforcement Center event, call the Sheriff's Office at 620-697-4313. Give the person's full name and approximate booking date, then ask whether Morton County ended custody and whether the event was community release or transfer. A focused written request can seek the recorded release date and time, release type, releasing authority, and destination.
The Kansas District Court Public Access Portal may add the legal basis. A bond order, dismissal, sentence, probation order, or journal entry can explain why custody changed. Yet the court filing time may differ from the physical jail release. Reconcile the court record with the Sheriff's custody event.

VINE Versus Kansas State Release
Kansas VINE excludes KDOC state-prison offenders. Use KASPER, the Kansas Adult Supervised Population Electronic Repository, when a transfer to state custody, a prison sentence, parole, or postrelease supervision is plausible. KASPER covers people associated with KDOC-operated or KDOC-funded programs, not every county-jail booking.
A community status in KASPER can mean a person left prison but remains supervised. “Sentence discharge/maximum sentence date” is the end of the KDOC sentence obligation and supervision. Those concepts are not interchangeable with a Morton County bond release. KASPER also updates on working days, so a time-sensitive result should be confirmed with KDOC.
KASPER warns that community-corrections probation events after April 21, 2021 are incomplete during modernization. A missing probation event should be checked with the appropriate supervision agency or court. VINE cannot fill that state-system gap because it has a different county-jail scope.
Morton County VINE Search Limits
Federal Bureau of Prisons custody is checked through the BOP Inmate Locator, not VINELink.
